There is only one preserved shunter currently at Meldon Quarry, of which belongs to the Dartmoor Railway.

Take the B3260 west out of Okehampton towards Meldon. Just before you reach the junction with the A30 there is a left turn signposted to Meldon Quarry. Follow this road up until you come to the viaduct high above the road. Park carefully at or before the base of the viaduct - heavy lorries use this road, so park well into the side. At the base of the viaduct on the left-hand side of the road is a public footpath which climbs steeply up to the Meldon Quarry end of the Dartmoor Railway. Once at the top, follow the cycle/footpath alongside the railway to view the stored locos and the shunter.

Current Allocation:

08937 - BR green ( does not carry any numbers at present )
