The scrap yard of EMR ( European Metal Recycling ) in Kingsbury, Warwickshire ocassionally holds a shunter or two awaiting scrapping.

From Junction 9 on the M42, take the A4097 to Kingsbury. At the junction with the A51, turn left at the roundabout into Kingsbury village, and then take the fifth right into Sycamore Road, just after Trinity Road on the right. Follow this road round until you see a playing field on the right. Park here and walk across the park and up the grass bank to view the scrapyard across the main line. Binoculars required.

For a head on view, continue past the entrance to EMR, and just after passing the last oil storage tanks, park up outside the gated entrance. From here, walk up the hill and between the two houses. This path is a public bridleway, so you won't be tresspassing. Immediately after passing the house of the left, take the metal style, situated by the gate. This path leads over the M42 and the Water Orton to Tamworth line, before coming to an end by the Malt House pub, situated on the A51. Before crossing the motorway, the scrap yard can be viewed from here, although identifying the numbers could prove to be a problem. A strong telephoto lens or binoculars are definately required.

Current Allocation:

08783 - EWS
08921 - EWS
20092 - Grey primer
